Middle East Fund Managers Now on Sotheby’s Reconfigured Board after Abu Dhabi Investment

In October, Sotheby’s announced that it had secured a $1 billion investment from ADQ, a sovereign wealth fund operated by Abu Dhabi’s government. Part of the arrangement stipulates that the auction house’s board would be reconfigured into a nine-person group, with three seats for managers associated with the Emirati fund. At the time, it was unclear how the board would be reconfigured. It meant that for the first time, financial authorities in the Middle East would have a significant presence in how the heritage company was run. This marked a shift in the makeup of its highest levels of management, positions which have historically been held by money managers and lawyers based in Western countries. Highbrook Living Limited plans to build a housing development at the landmark power station site on Sparky Rd, near Ōtara. Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board (OPLB) chair Apulu Reece Autagavaia said the development could have significant environmental impacts, cause traffic congestion, and is far from schools and shops. “The proposed development site is cut off from the rest of Ōtara, bordered by the Tamaki River, State Highway 1, and the busy main arterial Highbrook route,” he says. “The board is concerned an elite enclave will be built, disconnected from the rest of Ōtara,” he said. “[There is] no physical connection to existing people of Ōtara to be neighbours with. British Painter Sarah Cunningham Missing In London

British painter Sarah Cunningham is missing in London. Lisson Gallery, which represents Cunningham, posted on Instagram Sunday that Cunningham was last seen at 2:30 a.m. on November 2 on Jamestown Road in the city’s borough of Camden. Cunningham’s brother Anthony also posted on X that she was “last seen leaving apartment building” on that street and had been officially reported as missing. In a statement to ARTnews , the gallery said it was made aware of Cunningham being missing on the afternoon of November 2 and “wearing a black top, black skirt and black converse trainers.” “We encourage anyone who might have seen or heard anything, or might have any information on Sarah’s whereabouts, to please urgently contact us or the London Metropolitan Police on 101.
